The Great Corn Race 2015

Final Results on the great corn race: Sorry I didn't have a video for this

12 Regular size ears of corn
18 Ears of corn that only half the cob was pollinated
The plants were to close together for everything to get pollinated completely.

All tasted great!!!

As it turns out Gravel was not a good media to use for the corn. Hydroton (clay pellets) might have been better.
The root mass was so thick that is bound up the gravel to the point where it practically turned into cement.
Which explained why the water was not flowing through the whole bed.

I do have to admit Margaret's Terrestrial corn produced more total ears of corn than my Aqua corn did.
So she did win the Great Corn Race, this time ;-)
But I did produce more corn per square inch than she did and used much less water.
All the water that went into my Aquaponic bed went right back out into the pond where it came from.
